The Pacific Rim area is one of the key manufacturing sites in the world and application of statistical thinking and methods for production engineering has never been more important than with Big Data. Following the success of the first two conferences held at Shanghai Center for Mathematical Sciences in 2014 and Seoul National University in 2016, the 3rd Pacific Rim Statistical Conference for Production Engineering (SCPE 2018) will be held at National Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The SCPE 2018 highlights the most recent developments and application of statistical thinking and methods for production engineering, in particular smart factory and AI. It features renowned speakers in statistics and engineering from academe and industry, showcasing their work in smart factory and production engineering. The 3-day conference will be composed of two plenary lectures, six scientific sessions, two panel discussions and two half-day short courses.
